Botanical name: Persea gratissimia (Avocado) Oil

Dark green in colour, with a mild aroma, Avocado oil, is a popular ingredient in soap making due to the conditioning and creamy lather properties. Avocado oil is also a beautiful ingredient to use in lotions and creams.

Avocado oil makes a softer bar of soap and is typically used at 20% or less in cold process recipes, with 5 to 15% being the most common.

The high levels of fatty acids make it great for lotion, body butter, and conditioner as well.  It contains Vitamins A, B1, B2, D, E and beta carotene. Avocado oil is beneficial to all skin types, but is especially helpful for dry, aging, sun exposed and mature skin, and is known to help reduce discomfort associated with some skin conditions.
