Harvested in the African tropics (though grown in predominantly drier, arid regions), Shea Butter has long been used to treat dry and problem skin.  As part of your skincare and soap formulation shea butter has infinite uses – adding a luxurious touch to balms, butters, lotions, masks and more.

Shea varies from an off white to a more yellow colour – this shea is unrefined and has a distinct smoky aroma, which stems from the extraction which is typically still done over an open fire.  Certified organic and fair trade, this shea is absolutely divine to use.

Shea butter contributes to a hard bar of soap and a silky lather, and is typically used at 5 to 15%.
