Light in colour, with almost no aroma, Sweet Almond oil is a popular option for dispersing colorants for cold process soap, along with creating herbal infusions for skincare products.

Sweet Almond oil makes a soap that is initially softer, though with the right formulation (combined with hard oils) will harden beautifully.  Used for it’s contribution to a creamy lather and conditioning formulation, Sweet Almond oil is typically used at 15% or less in cold process recipes, with 5 to 10% being the most common.

Because of its high fatty acid content, sweet almond oil is a popular ingredient for lip products and scrubs.  The lightweight texture of sweet almond oil works well in other skin care products such as lotion and shaving cream.  Packed full of Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Zinc, it’s an essential product in your skincare ingredient arsenal.
